Icmeler hotels - About Icmeler
İçmeler is a popular Turkish holiday resort situated 8 kilometres from Marmaris. It is also a municipality of its own. İçmeler bay is located on the Datcha peninsula. The town is surrounded on three sides by pine forests. Hiking on the mountains provides fantastic views of the region and is very popular.
Pronounced in English approximately like /each-mell-er/ (incorrectly as /ish-muh-lah/), the town has developed rapidly over the last 15 years, accommodation and other tourist facilities mushrooming across the formerly sleepy fishermen's and sponge divers' village. As a side to the increasing tourism, this village in the Turkish Riviera is seeing an increasing amount of watersports facilities, such as; scuba diving, waterskiing and many others.
The town developed on the back of tourist seeking a quieter alternative to the over developed Marmaris, many who return annually.
Nightlife is pretty scarce in Icmeler, many of the restaurants and funpubs play very loud music with shows and acts keeping the customers very entertained until around midnight. Once midnight comes most tourists go to sleep but the younger tourists seem to stay awake futher into the night. Icmeler has two real nightclubs EastEnders and Pleasure within a five minute walk of each other and with no entry fee. Both clubs are the same, nightly foam parties, very loud music, very entertaining bar staff and both start filling up between midnight and 1:30am. The clubs focus on getting the same people coming back night after night until around 4am when the clubs shut. As the tourists come back night after night the younger people tend to come back to Icmeler as they enjoy the variation in the nightlife from restaurants in the early evening, pubs and mini-discos until midgnight and then followed by the nightclubs.
